The Tropical Guest House is conveniently located in Isabel Segunda, on the Northern side of Vieques.
It’s a short walk from the ferry, for travelers arriving from Fajardo. It's also a short drive from the airport, for travelers arriving from San Juan, Fajardo, Culebra, and neighboring islands, like St. Croix and St. Thomas.
WALKING FROM FERRY (APPROX. 15 MINUTES): Make a right out of the ferry terminal. Pass "Mar Azul" and "Cafe Mamasonga." At triangle on the road that has a clock tower, make a left. Proceed straight past "La Zafra Restaurant" and
Mr. Sushi," until you see the town Plaza. At this point, the Puerto Rico Tourism company will be on your right corner. Make a right here, you will pass the Alcaldia and "Bar Plaza." When you get to a wide intersection where the ocean is on your right and "Black Beard Sports" is directly across from you, cross the street and make a left. This is Calle Munoz Rivera. So, walk away from the ocean, past the U.S. Post Office and you will reach a corner where you can't keep walking straight, and the "Funky Beehive" is on your right corner. Make a right at this intersection (Calle Antonio Mellado) and keep straight. Pass "Sabores Restaurant", "Roy's" on your right, and "Biekes Bistro" and the "Vieques Laundromat" on your left. A few minutes away, you will see a narrow bridge on your left hand side. You are going to cross that bridge and you will be entering "Mambiche," our neighborhood. (Note that if you pass "Richards Cafe", the abandoned gas station, or reach the intermediate school, you've gone too far.) OK, almost there, I promise. After the bridge, bear left and at next corner, bear right. You will see the Tropical Guest House on your left. We are on Calle Apolonia Gittings. You made it!
Tourists in Puerto Rico usually arrive through the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan (SJU tel. 787-791-4670).
